Donation Policy

Stampede Lacrosse is a tax‑exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN: 33‑1371472). We exist to develop leaders through lacrosse by building a continuous pathway from youth participation to community impact, especially for underrepresented communities.

This Donation Policy explains how we steward contributions.

1. Purpose of Donations

Donations support:

Leadership development for student‑athletes and emerging leaders.

Mentorship and service programs that connect collegiate and community leaders with youth.

Program operations, equipment access, and capacity building that strengthen continuity and structure.

Unless clearly designated otherwise, donations are unrestricted and may be used where they are needed most to maintain and grow this pathway.

2. Restricted and Designated Gifts

If you designate a gift for a specific program or purpose:

We will make reasonable efforts to honor that intent.

If a program is fully funded, discontinued, or no longer aligned with our mission or capacity, we may redirect funds to a closely related purpose or to the area of greatest need, consistent with legal and ethical guidelines.

For significant restricted gifts, we may seek your input before repurposing funds.

3. Quid Pro Quo Contributions

When you receive goods or services in return for a contribution (for example, an event ticket, merchandise, or sponsorship benefits), part of your payment may not be tax‑deductible.

For any such payment over $75, we will provide a written disclosure that:

States that only the amount exceeding the fair market value of the goods or services is tax‑deductible.

Provides our good‑faith estimate of the fair market value of what you received.

4. Receipts and Acknowledgments

For each donation, we provide a receipt or acknowledgment that typically includes:

Our legal name and EIN.

The date and amount of the contribution.

A statement regarding whether goods or services were provided in exchange, and if so, our good‑faith estimate of their value.

For contributions of $250 or more, we provide written acknowledgments suitable for tax reporting. We may also provide annual summaries for recurring donors.

5. Recurring Donations

If you set up recurring donations:

Your selected payment method will be charged automatically per your chosen schedule.

You may change or cancel at any time via the instructions in your confirmation or by contacting us. Please allow time for changes to be processed before the next scheduled charge.

6. Donor Privacy and Recognition

We value donor trust and align donor stewardship with our broader leadership and continuity standards.

We do not sell or trade donor information.

We may publicly recognize donors (e.g., on our website, in reports, or at events), unless you request anonymity.

Donor data may be shared with service providers who support our fundraising operations, under appropriate confidentiality and security protections.

To change your recognition preferences (including anonymous giving), contact development@stampedelacrosse.org.

7. Non‑Cash and In‑Kind Gifts

We may accept in‑kind or non‑cash donations (e.g., equipment, services, professional support) that strengthen our leadership pipeline and community impact.

We will acknowledge such gifts in writing with a description of the contribution.

Donors are responsible for determining fair market value and completing any required appraisals or IRS documentation.
